Trad's was founded in 1971 when Betty and Lou Trad opened Trad's Garden Center on San Jose Boulevard. The Garden Center business was a natural fit for Lou Trad, a graduate of the University of Florida's Agriculture School and also for Betty Trad, a lifelong resident of Jacksonville. Trad's Garden Center quickly gained a solid reputation among the San Jose community for providing superior knowledge, winning service and healthy, beautiful plants. Responding to the needs of the growing community, Trad's Pest Control was started in 1979 and gained the same solid reputation. Trad's is a full service pest control offering Lawn & Shrub Spraying, Pest Control Service, Termite Control and Protection, and Fumigation. Trad's is Certified by Florida Green Industries. Trad's is certified in Integrated Pest Management for schools and facilities.
Today, Trad's of Jacksonville, Inc. Includes the Garden Center, still at its original location on San Jose Boulevard, a Lawn and Ornamental Pest Control company, the Indoor Pest and Rodent Management Company, and a Landscape Design and Installation Service. The original founders are still a vital and intregal part of the business, and the second generation of Trad children are also fixtures there. The old fashioned principles the business was originally founded on are still practiced by the company today: hard work, honesty, exceptional knowledge and a commitment to service.
